Order of
appearance in the Second (semi-final) and
the Third (final) rounds will be
determined by giving order numbers the
night before each round.
If a
competitor is eliminated, he or she is
required to appear with his or her
partner who continues to compete in
subsequent rounds. In this case the
eliminated partner is invited to stay
with the Competition on the same
conditions as his or her remaining
partner. All those eliminated in a
previous round may stay more with the
Competition at their own expense.
The
winners of the Competition get the right
to perform in the gala concert on the
stages of the Mariinsky Theater,
St.-Petersburg, the Bolshoi Theater,
Moscow, and the Pierre Cardin Theater,
Paris.
The
winners will be awarded at the final gala
performance. Some other competitors may
be invited to perform in the gala along
with the winners.
The
Competition will take place from August
17 to August 22, 1998.
All
competitors must arrive not later than
August 15, 1998. The mandatory
orientation meeting and casting of lots
will take place on August 16, 1998.
Lodging
for competitors will be provided from
August 15 through August 23, 1998.
Rehearsal
rooms will be available to competitors in
accordance with their numbers determined
by casting of lots.
